Anke Feuchtenberger studied at the Kunsthochschule Berlin. Since 1997 she holds a professorship for drawing and graphic narration at the University of Applied Science in Hamburg. Feuchtenberger emerged as a comic artist and started exhibiting and publishing internationally in the 1990s.
Among the prizes and awards she has received for her work are the Max and Moritz Award in 2008 for ‘Best German-Language Comic Artist’ and the Max and Moritz Prize for outstanding lifetime achievement in 2020 from the Erlangen International Comic Salon.
Feuchtenberger’s book GENOSSIN KUCKUCK was the first graphic novel to be nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize for Fiction in 2023.
In 2025, she was awarded with the Grand Prix Artémisia by the Artémisia Foundation Paris.
She is mother and grandmother, based in Hamburg and Vorpommern.
